Some of the finest and twistiest road and dual-sport destinations in the southeast make this rally a must. Your base will be the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, Georgia (N34 57.821 W83 46.289) featuring beautiful lakeside camping with full facilities, great food, and great vendors. A terrific destination in itself, Hiawassee provides easy access to some of the finest road and dual-sport rides in the country, including legendary Georgia highways 2, 17, 60, 76, 129/Blood Mountain, 180, 348/Richard Russell Scenic Parkway, the Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, and literally hundreds of little-known local roads, plus endless dual-sport riding throughout the Chattahoochee and Nantahala National Forests and the Cohutta Wilderness. In addition, Hiawassee and its neighboring communities provide an unmatched variety and quality of stores and restaurants that makes time out of the saddle just as rewarding as slicing though some highway turns or plugging through some off-road mud. NOTES ABOUT CAMPING AT THE RALLYRally registration includes Friday and Saturday nights tent camping on unimproved grass sites adjacent to Lake Chatuge and use of all site facilities, including hot showers.Improved sites for tents and RVs, with or without hookups, are available at extra cost paid and organized directly with the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds office. Extended use of an unimproved grass site before or after the rally is also at extra cost paid and organized directly with the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds office. All these sites are subject to availability and can be purchased onsite or in advance at 706-896-4191.
